In my last post, “The First Facet of Forgiving Others,” I shared with you that the fundamental reason you are miserable when you don’t forgive others is that you are a brand-new creation in Christ.
And because of your eternal spiritual union with Him, you are a ‘forgiven forgiver at heart.’
Any time you aren’t expressing your true identity in Him, you will experience unfulfillment.
In today’s post, I’m going to share with you the final facet of forgiving others.
It may surprise you.
If you haven’t already realized this truth, you’ll be so relieved when you do.
Grab a cup of coffee (or favorite beverage), your Bible, and your journal (if you use one), and allow Jesus to speak to your heart through today’s post.
“My lovely bride, realizing that you are a ‘forgiven forgiver at heart’ is the first facet of forgiving others.”
“You now understand that your deepest desire is not to withhold forgiveness from someone who has wounded you.”
“Forgiving others is an authentic expression of the new you in Me.”
“But this understanding alone does not make your forgiveness toward those who have hurt you complete.”
“Remember when I told you that you could do nothing apart from Me?”
“While it is certainly true that you will never be apart from Me, you can live just as if you do not possess the same power that raised Me from the dead.”
“When you choose to ‘do life’ apart from reliance on My indwelling Spirit, you are carrying out the desires of the flesh.”
“And when it comes to forgiving someone who has hurt you, unless you trust My perfect power through your inability to completely forgive, the process will remain unfinished.”
“As a result, you will live in confusion and experience unrest in your soul (and body).”
“Is there someone you need to forgive?”
“If so, agree with Me, saying out loud, ‘Lord, I want to forgive (name the offender) because I am a completely forgiven forgiver in You.'”
“‘Thank You for forgiving me with no strings attached!'”
“‘I confess that I cannot forgive (name the offender) from the flesh, so right now, by the power of your Spirit in and through me, I choose to forgive (name the offender) for (name the offense).'”
“‘Lord, thank You that Your power to forgive is fully expressed through my inability to forgive.'”
“‘When the enemy tries to convince me that I have not forgiven (name the offender), I will remind him that, not only have I forgiven (name the offender), but that the forgiveness was completed by Your power in and through me.'”
“Sometimes the person you need to forgive most is yourself.”
“If you are punishing yourself for things you have done wrong, then you are devaluing My precious blood that was poured out to pardon the sins of your lifetime.”
“Go back through the above confession and replace (name the offender) with (myself).”
“Now smile, take a deep breath, and relax in the freedom that comes from forgiving others and yourself.”
Dear reader, how does knowing you are a ‘forgiven forgiver at heart’ and you have all of Jesus’ power within you in order to forgive others going to make a difference in your life?
